Reaching Out Across Durham (ROAD)

ROAD brings together 12 well respected voluntary and community service organisations who want to make a real difference to the lives of 625 people who live in County Durham and area aged 25 and over. We will achieve this by providing 1 to 1 intensive support that encourages and enables participants to achieve their goals as they move towards and into job search, employment, education and training.

ROAD is funded by the The National Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund until July 2019, and is a Building Better Opportunities (BBO) programme.

Community Learning Project

CDC Enterprise Agency are working with Durham County Council, funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) using European Social Fund (ESF) to deliver Believe in Yourself. This is a seven week course delivered weekly on a Monday between 10.00 am – 2.00 pm at MILE House in Chester le Street. The next course is due to start on 18 March 2019.

Durham Food and Drink Network

The Durham Food and Drink Network is a partnership project, delivered in County Durham, designed to help small producers of local food address their business support needs. Commissioned by Business Durham’s Durham Business Opportunities Programme (DBOP), and funded by the European Regional Development Fund the project will seek to support producers of local food access new markets, improve their business and establish County Durham produced food as an important asset for the County.

The support is delivered across the County by South Durham Enterprise Agency, East Durham Business Services and CDC Enterprise Agency.

Helping business access one to one support to address common challenges and opportunities the programme has access to a range of experienced advisors able to assist businesses with their support needs.

The programme has an active and vibrant calendar of events, suitable for food producers and aimed at establishing new distribution channels or gaining new skills.

With a dedicated digital resource to help small businesses access information on the go, the Durham Food and Drink Network has a host of resources designed to help businesses build their knowledge.

The Durham Food and Drink Network has access to a range of additional support provision from the likes of Durham Sparks, Digital Drive, Business Durham, Boost Your Business and a host more, enabling effective signposting to additional of specialised support where required.
